What we are about
The Change Parallel Project is a non-profit organization that provides transformative rehabilitative curriculums for incarcerated people to assist in character building, self-awareness, and vulnerability. These curriculums aim to create space for authentic and meaningful change in the lives of individuals who wish to deepen self-understanding and enhance their understanding of their circumstances.
Mission Statement -
Our goal is to transform the lives of incarcerated individuals across America by empowering each participant to recognize their potential and align themselves with the path of change.
Vision Statement -
The Change Parallel Project curriculums will serve as an essential component of standard rehabilitative programs within the CDCR and institutions nationwide. They will equip incarcerated individuals with the tools and insights necessary for personal growth and attainment of inner freedom.
The Change Parallel Philosophy
We hold the belief that genuine change necessitates alignment between thoughts and actions. It is crucial for there to be coherence between your current self and the envisioned future self throughout the transformative journey, facilitated by storytelling, journaling, dialoguing and introspection. For your desired outcome to solidify, your efforts toward personal transformation must embody 100% authenticity. Behavioral shifts often falter when there is inconsistency between the desire to change and daily actions. The Change Parallel Project contends that individuals are not their worst act, therefore, should not be defined as such.
Connect
Connect with the project with an inreach curriculum that initiates meaningful conversations and activities to cultivate self-awareness.
Reflect
Through exercises and activities, reflect on and explore our inner-selves to gain insights into our limits, tendencies, fears and anxieties.
Confront
Build courage and resilience to confront and break away from the limiting beliefs, fears and insecurities that prevent us from progressing.
Grow
Experience growth in a meaningful and holistic manner, powering individuals to reach their highest potential.

About the Founder
Marlon Gray transformed his life through the parallel of connecting his desire to change with his actions. This parallel proved the authenticity invested as a first step to change his life. Marlon holds multiple certifications in rehabilitative programming abilities and excels in additional areas of personal development. He created The Change Parallel to provide transformative curriculums to those wanting to change their lives through the process of authenticity the way he did. Incarcerated for 38 years, Marlon is serving a Life Without Parole sentence. On March 13, 2024, he was recommended for resentencing based on his change parallel. His accomplishments include:
